Although this series is a bit slow and lengthy, and it will take at least 2 episodes for you to get into it, it’s not the kind of series that grabs your attention right from the first episode. After the second episode, you’ll start enjoying its plot, planning, and execution. This series portrays true events because many such scams surfaced in Japan after 2010. This series is directly inspired by true crime events.

The writing of Tokyo Swindlers works well like a new machine. It has the right amount of emotional elements with a well-written story to keep you invested in this 7-hour series. Each character is different, and even the subplots are different but complementary in a satisfactory manner to keep the viewer engaged.

Overall, Tokyo Swindlers is engaging and you will like the story, but it is slow and lengthy. The main characters are well-established, although you might not be able to connect with them emotionally. Overall, everything about the series is good—its production, and its music. In my opinion, it is an enjoyable and suspenseful drama, and I would suggest you definitely watch this show. However, it is not suitable for watching with family because it contains adult scenes and significant blood and violence.
