The teaser for Prabhas Raja Saab has been released, and the audience is divided into two camps. Interestingly, India’s biggest superstar and most hated star are the same person—the original Bahubali of India, who invented the term “Pan India” in Indian cinema. Once again, one of his movies is hitting the box office.
It’s been almost 10 years since Baahubali, but the excitement for every Prabhas movie remains the same. In short, hype equals Prabhas. The fact is, after contributing 1200 crores with Kalki, he hasn’t even had a proper break before a new chapter has begun. The teaser for Raja Saab has been officially released, and people are divided 50-50. After just 40 seconds of Raja Saab, some people have already judged that this will be Radhe Shyam Part 2, meaning 100% flop, because no one wants to see Prabhas in a soft screen presence.
People mostly blame Prabhas for only doing mass cinema with big budgets and strong supporting casts. Now, when he’s trying something new on his own, why are people upset? Although he had a god-like screen presence in Kalki, now coming straight as a lover boy on screen will take some time for the audience to digest.
Personally, I feel that Raja Saab could be a career-changing film for Prabhas. In the teaser, Prabhas looks like an ordinary human, stepping away from his usual mass cinema roles. Let’s see how this film goes for Prabhas, as it lacks a sequel factor, a 600-700 crore budget, and action scenes, giving him the full opportunity to showcase his talent.
Until now, Prabhas has had to share the credit for all his superhits, either with the director or with supporting actors. But if Raja Saab succeeds, the entire credit will go to Prabhas. If you’ve watched the teaser carefully, you’ll see that it combines horror, romance, and comedy—the three most challenging genres—centred around Prabhas.
I’m very excited about this movie, and you should watch it too, as you’ll see an actor in a completely new role.
