In the real world, Harold and Moose ride a bike (​another creation of Harold’s) in search of the old man. Along the way, they encounter​ Terri, the mother of an imaginative boy named Mel. When Terri accidentally hits Harol​d and Moose with her car, Harold’s magic crayon comes to the rescue, fixing her tire. Mel, curious and kind-hearted, befrie​nds Harold, an​d the two bond secretly. ​But their adventure takes an unexpected turn when Terri insists that Harol​d and Moose le​ave.
